The Need Continues To Be Great

The 2011 Give A Kid A Coat campaign has collected 11,862 coats during the first three weeks of the campaign, which is 1,397 less than the number collected through week three of the 2010 campaign. "We are now just over half-way through our 2011 Give A Kid A Coat campaign.  If you haven't done so yet, please go into your closet and find a few coats that you no longer need or wear and drop them off at a neighborhood A Cleaner World (find your local Greensboro dry cleaners, High Point dry cleaners, Winston Salem dry cleaners).  Thank you for your help." said Fox 8’s Chief Meteorologist Van Denton.

"We are thankful that so many in the community support this great program", said Captain Tony Perez, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of High Point, “but we are in great need of coats this year.  We are turning people away because we just don’t have enough coats to fill the demand at this point in the campaign.”

Residents that wish to participate in this year’s campaign can simply drop off their outgrown coats or coats they no longer wear at the nearest A Cleaner World.  Coats will then be cleaned, repaired, and delivered to The Salvation Army for distribution.  Families in need of coats should check with their nearest Salvation Army for distribution information as distribution times and locations vary by city.

The 2011 Give A Kid A Coat campaign concludes Saturday, November 26, 2011.   Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, Fox8/WGHP, and 1075KZL.  Monetary contributions may also be made at any High Point Bank location throughout the campaign.  For additional information, please call Dianne Black at 336-841-4188.
