2011 Elementary School Challenge

Give A Kid A Coat will kick off its 25th campaign on Friday, October 21 at 5 a.m. at the A Cleaner World located at 2527 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  All A Cleaner World locations will begin accepting coat donations for Give A Kid A Coat at that time.  As a part of this year's campaign, Give A Kid A Coat is once again issuing a challenge to area elementary schools.  Schools that wish to participate in this year's Elementary School Challenge should do the following:

*Encourage parents and students to check their closets for coats to donate and ask parents to drop coats off from October 21 - October 28 individually at any A Cleaner World location.
*Please do not collect coats on site and then drop them off in bulk.
*Individuals wishing to receive credit for the Elementary School Challenge should tell the Customer Service Representative at drop off the name of their school.  A Cleaner World will keep track of points.
*One coat equals one point.  A maximum of 10 tally points will be awarded per drop off.
*A Cleaner World will add up the points on Monday, October 31.  The schools with the three highest counts will each be awarded a prize.
*Winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 1 on both the Fox 8 Morning News and 1075KZL's Murphy in the Morning Show.
*A Cleaner World will contact the winners following the announcement.
*Prizes will be awarded as follows:  first place $750, second place $500, and third place $250.
*All prizes will be made payable to the winning school's PTA.

"We are excited to offer this challenge to area schools," said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World.  "It's just a fun way to get kids involved by creating some friendly competition.  In the process, they could help out their school.  We hope all area schools will participate."

Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World dry cleaners, The Salvation Army, Fox 8/WGHP, and 1075KZL.  For additional information contact Chris Edwards at 336-841-4188.
