The Need Continues to Be Great

The 2010 Give A Kid A Coat campaign has collected 13,259 coats during the first three weeks of the campaign, which is slightly ahead of the number collected through week three of the 2009 campaign. "We are now just over half-way through our 2010 Give A Kid A Coat campaign. The folks as the Salvation Army are telling us the coats are going fast this year. We all knew there was a great need, right? If you haven't done so yet, please go into your closet and find a few coats that you no longer need or wear and drop them off at a neighborhood A Cleaner World. Thank you for your help." said Fox 8’s Chief Meteorologist Van Denton.

"We are grateful that so many in this community support this great program", said Major Kent Davis, newly appointed Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Winston-Salem. "We gave out more than 530 coats on the first day of coat distribution in Winston-Salem."

Residents that wish to participate in this year’s campaign can simply drop off their outgrown coats or coats they no longer wear at their nearest A Cleaner World dry cleaning location. Coats will then be cleaned, repaired, and delivered to The Salvation Army for distribution. Families in need of coats should check with their nearest Salvation Army for distribution information as distribution times and locations vary by city.

The 2010 Give A Kid A Coat campaign concludes Saturday, December 4, 2010. Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, Fox8/WGHP, and 1075KZL. Monetary contributions may also be made at any High Point Bank location throughout the campaign. For additional information, please call Dianne Black at 336-841-4188.
