30th ANNUAL GIVE A KID A COAT CAMPAIGN FINISHES WELL AHEAD OF FIRST WEEK 2015
Give A Kid A Coat, a campaign that solicits coat donations from area residents in order to provide coats to needy children and adults during the winter, has collected 3,404 coats during the first week of the 2017 campaign, and 6,664 since the kickoff on January 6th. This amount is 1,900 more than the first week last year, so the campaign is on track to collect around 20,000 coats at this pace. As in past years, The Salvation Army in the Triad needs around 25,000 coats to meet the needs of children in our area.
Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World, expressed his confidence in the first week’s campaign results. “For the past 29 years, our community has always responded to the needs of area children by providing sufficient coats through this campaign,” says Edwards. To help, simply check your closet for a coat no longer being worn and drop it off at any A Cleaner World location. The gently used coats will be cleaned and repaired free of charge and sent to The Salvation Army for distribution.
