Read to Win

For 10 years now, A Cleaner World, Fox 8, and WMAG have teamed up to sponsor a reading program designed to encourage children five to 16 years old to read while school is out for the summer. In 1998, the A Cleaner World Read to Ride Summer Reading Program was launched, and over the course of the next 8 summers, 400 bicycles were given away and thousands upon thousands of books were read by school age children. Last year, we decided to add some new excitement to the program and offered computers instead of bicycles as prizes. We felt that a computer as a prize tied in so well with promoting literacy and encouraging children to learn and excel in their studies.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
The 2008 A Cleaner World Read to Win Summer Reading Program will begin on Monday, June 11th, run for four weeks, and have an entry deadline date of Friday, June 29th. Here’s how the program works:

- Entrants must be between the ages of 5 and 16
- Entry forms are available at any Triad A Cleaner World location
- A child may submit one entry form for each book they read during the time of the contest
- A parent or guardian must sign the entry form
- Entries can be turned in at any Triad A Cleaner World location or mailed to Fox 8
- A random drawing will be held by Fox 8 every Monday through Friday from June 18th through July 6th
- Winners will be announced at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Fox 8 and WMAG
- Fifteen desktop computers with monitors will be awarded
- Winners will also receive tickets to Wet N Wild Emerald Point for an Ice Cream Social Wrap Up Party

Detailed contest rules are available at our stores. We’re so glad to be a part of a program that encourages our young people to learn, grow, and excel. After all, today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. Happy reading!
