COATS DESPERATELY NEEDED

The 2008 Give A Kid A Coat campaign has collected 12,884 coats during the first three weeks of the campaign, which is roughly the same number collected through week three of the 2007 campaign.  “Folks in the Triad are being just as generous as they’ve always been,” said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World.  “The need this year is just so much greater than past years.  The Greensboro Salvation Army had to do a special pick up last week because they were out of coats.  The Winston-Salem Salvation Army had to close their doors early because they ran out of coats.  The High Point Salvation Army reported to us that they are out of children’s coats.  If there was ever a year to help out your neighbor, this is the year.”
Residents that wish to participate in this year’s campaign can simply drop off their outgrown coats or coats they no longer wear at the nearest A Cleaner World.  Coats will then be cleaned, repaired, and delivered to The Salvation Army for distribution.  Families in need of coats should check with their nearest Salvation Army for distribution information as distribution times and locations vary by city.
The 2008 Give A Kid A Coat campaign concludes Saturday, November 29, 2008.   Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, Fox8/WGHP, and 1075KZL.  For additional information, please call Barbara Mitchell at 336-841-4188.
