The 2007 Give A Kid A Coat campaign has collected 13,050 coats during the first three weeks of the campaign, which is approximately 11% behind last year’s third week figures. “We know that there is still a great need,” said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World. “The Salvation Army in High Point gave out over 2,400 coats last week, which is just shy of what was collected to date in High Point.” Ramona Wishon with The Salvation Army in High Point said that distribution is going well, but they “desperately need little children’s coats.”
Residents that wish to participate in this year’s campaign can simply drop off their outgrown coats or coats they no longer wear at the nearest A Cleaner World. Coats will then be cleaned, repaired, and delivered to The Salvation Army for distribution. Families in need of coats should check with their nearest Salvation Army for distribution information as distribution times and locations vary by city.
One more live van hit is scheduled for Thursday, November 29th from
Noon to 1 p.m. at the A Cleaner World located at 2781 S. Church Street in
Burlington. Folks from 1075KZL will be there to collect coats and serve lunch to individuals that donate coats. Additional details will be provided next week.
The 2007 Give A Kid A Coat campaign concludes Saturday, December 1, 2007. Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, Fox8/WGHP, and 1075KZL. For additional information, please call Chris Edwards at 336-841-4188.
