The 2019 Give A Kid A Coat campaign kicked off this past Friday during a live event with WGHP/FOX8 and 1075KZL/Rock92 at the A Cleaner World located at 2527 Eastchester Drive in High Point. This year’s kickoff garnered 418 coats at the kickoff location with a total of 2,176 coats collected at all A Cleaner World locations throughout the area.
The Piedmont area Give A Kid A Coat campaign collected, cleaned, and distributed 22,423 coats in 2018 through The Salvation Army. Since its inception in 1987, the campaign has distributed 868,042 coats. The 2019 campaign began Friday, January 4th and will conclude on Saturday, February 9th.
Residents wishing to participate in this year’s campaign can bring their outgrown coats or coats no longer being worn to any A Cleaner World location. Coats will be cleaned, repaired, and given to The Salvation Army for distribution to needy children and adults. Distribution will begin in early January, and more details will be provided via the A Cleaner World, FOX8, 1075KZL, Rock92, and Salvation Army websites.
The campaign is again open to churches, schools, businesses, community and civic groups that would like to collect coats and drop them off at any A Cleaner World location as well.
Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, WGHP/FOX8, 1075KZL, Rock92, and The Salvation Army. For additional information, please call Dianne Berberich at 336-841-4188.
