2020 GIVE A KID A COAT 33rd CAMPAIGN BEGINS
The 2020 Give A Kid A Coat campaign kicked off this morning by collecting coats during a live event with WGHP FOX8 and WKZL/ROCK 92 at the A Cleaner World located at 2527 Eastchester Drive in High Point. The event was filled with visits by radio and television personalities. Biscuitville, Chick Fil A, and Hardees provided biscuits, and Krispy Kreme sent doughnuts to enjoy along with hot chocolate and coffee provided by The Salvation Army. AAA Storage, the NC RV Dealer’s Association, and Go Green Plumbing, who are all media sponsors for the campaign, came by to join in the festivities.
The Piedmont area Give A Kid A Coat campaign collected, cleaned, and distributed, through The Salvation Army, 20,725 coats in 2019 and has collected, cleaned, and distributed 888,767 coats since the campaign’s inception in 1987. The 2020 campaign began today and will end on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
Residents wishing to participate in this year’s campaign can bring their outgrown coats or coats no longer being worn to any A Cleaner World location. Coats will be cleaned, repaired, and given to The Salvation Army for distribution to needy children and adults. Distribution begins in January. The distribution information will be available on the A Cleaner World website, as well as through the local offices of The Salvation Army.
This year, the campaign has again opened up to community and civic groups as well as churches that would like to collect coats and drop them off at any A Cleaner World location to be cleaned and distributed.
Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, WGHP/Fox8, 1075ZKL, Rock92, and The Salvation Army. For additional information, please call Dianne Berberich at (336) 841-4188.
