30th ANNUAL GIVE A KID A COAT CAMPAIGN RECAPS WEEK 2
The Give A Kid A Coat program has collected 9,836 coats during the first two weeks of the 2017 campaign, which is 67% higher than week two of last year’s campaign. While donations are steady, demand continues to be high.
“The weather has already been cold, and we know it often gets even colder between now and February,” says Fox8’s Van Denton. “Please help us to help children in the Piedmont that need a good coat to wear.”
To make a donation, simply drop off your outgrown coats or coats no longer being worn to any A Cleaner World in North Carolina or Virginia. A Cleaner World will clean and repair the coats and give them to The Salvation Army to distribute. Distribution information is available through your local Salvation Army or the A Cleaner World website.
In addition to coats, the Salvation Army can use monetary donations to fill in the gaps on coat sizes that aren’t received through collections. There is a special link set up to receive donations at: http://give.salvationarmyusa.org/site/Donation2?df_id=23032&mfc_pref=T&23032.donation=form1. If you don’t have a coat to donate, please consider making a monetary gift to this campaign to ensure that every child in the Triad is warm this winter.
Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, Fox 8/WGHP, 1075KZL, Rock92, and The Salvation Army. This year’s campaign ends on Saturday, February 11th. For additional information, contact Dianne Berberich at 336-841-4188.
