31st ANNUAL GIVE A KID A COAT CAMPAIGN OFF TO A GREAT START
Give A Kid A Coat, a campaign that solicits coat donations from area residents in order to provide coats to needy children and adults during the winter, has collected 4,270 coats during the first week of the 2018 campaign, and 7,649 since the kickoff on January 5th. This amount is 865 more than the first week last year, so the campaign is on track to collect around 21,000 coats at this pace. As in past years, The Salvation Army in the Triad needs around 25,000 coats to meet the needs of children in our area.
Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World, expressed his confidence in the first week’s campaign results. “This past week, we had the coldest weather so far this year for our kickoff. Let’s make sure we have plenty of coats for all our area children during this unusually cold winter,” says Edwards. To help, simply check your closet for a coat no longer being worn and drop it off at any A Cleaner World location
. The gently used coats will be cleaned and repaired free of charge and sent to The Salvation Army for distribution.
Triad Salvation Army locations are gearing up to begin distribution. For distribution information in your area, please check the A Cleaner World
, Fox8, or 1075KZL websites.
