GIVE A KID A COAT CONCLUDES 2015 CAMPAIGN
Give A Kid A Coat wrapped up its 29th campaign Saturday, November 14 after receiving 16,018 coats for families in need. Since its inception in 1987, Give A Kid A Coat has collected, cleaned, and distributed over 822,511 coats.
“Thanks to the generosity and hard work of all those involved – folks that donated, A Cleaner World employees, The Salvation Army that will distribute coats, Fox8/WGHP, Rock 92, and 1075KZL that spread the word – over 16,000 kids - our neighbors, will stay warm this winter,” says Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World. “It’s great to see our citizens work together year after year to meet the needs of children in our community.”
Major James Allison of the Winston Salem Salvation Army says: “As the temperatures begin to drop, children will be ready for the cold mornings at the bus stop. Thanks to the partnership between A Cleaner World, FOX 8, WKZL, Rock 92, Campers Inn, and thousands of donors throughout the Piedmont Triad that provided children and adults with a warm winter coat through the Give A Kid A Coat drive. A huge "THANK YOU" from the recipients of your thoughtful gift of coats!”
The collection process is over, and now The Salvation Army begins their work by distributing the coats. Families in need of coats can go to http://www.acleanerworld.com/GiveaKidaCoat.aspx or contact their local Salvation Army office for distribution information.
