Give A Kid A Coat Concludes 2014 Campaign
Give A Kid A Coat wrapped up its 28th campaign Saturday, November 15 after receiving 17,832 coats for families in need. Since its inception in 1987, Give A Kid A Coat has collected, cleaned, and distributed over 806,493 coats.
“The Give A Kid A Coat program is an excellent example of how when a community comes together, great things can happen,” said Chris Edwards, President of A Cleaner World. “Thanks to the generosity of all those involved – folks that donated, A Cleaner World employees that worked hard cleaning the coats, The Salvation Army that will distribute coats, and Fox8/WGHP and 1075KZL that spread the word – over 17,800 kids and adults, our neighbors, will stay warm this winter.”
“Every child deserves a warm winter coat that they can be proud to wear in the cold months ahead,” said Captain Bobby Jackson of The Salvation Army of High Point. “Thanks to A Cleaner World, children in our community have been able to have such a coat for the past 28 years."
The collection process is over, and now The Salvation Army begins their work by distributing the coats. Families in need of coats can go to learn more about the Give a Kid a Coat program or contact their local Salvation Army office for distribution information.
Give A Kid A Coat is sponsored by A Cleaner World, The Salvation Army, 1075KZL, and Fox8/WGHP. For additional information, please contact Dianne Berberich at 336-841-4188.
