Give A Kid A Coat Week 2 Recap
The Give A Kid A Coat program has collected 5,479 coats during the first two weeks of the 2014 campaign, which is 18% lower than week two of the 2013 campaign. While donations are holding steady, demand continues to be high.
“Remember how cold it was last winter?” asks Fox 8’s Chief Meteorologist Van Denton
. “Please make this the year that you donate the coats in the back of your closet to Give a Kid a Coat. Every coat that is donated goes to a person with a need.”
To make a donation, simply drop off your outgrown coats or coats no longer being worn to any A Cleaner World
in North Carolina or Virginia. A Cleaner World will clean and repair the coats and give them to The Salvation Army to distribute. To receive coats, parents only need to verify the number of children in their family and provide basic name and address information. Greensboro will be distributing coats from November 17th through the 21st at 3712 S. Holden Rd., from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. High Point will distribute coats from November 17th through the 21st at 301 West Green Drive from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Winston-Salem will distribute coats from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 21st and 22nd at 680 Peters Creek Parkway. Yadkin County will distribute November 14th and 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the old Unifi Warehouse in Yadkinville. Burlington will distribute from November 17th through the 21st from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at 812 N. Anthony St. in Burlington.
